Gender Discrimination or Disparity (লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য)
Gender disparity is one of the most discussed matters in Bangladesh. It means to treat girls and boys in different ways. It begins at birth, even before birth. In our society, girls are treated in a worse way. Girls are not allowed to enjoy all kinds of rights and facilities. Social prejudices, custom and religious misinterpretations are responsible for it. The social system is also responsible for it. Only males are fit for outdoor work in our social system.
So, girls are confined to domestic chores only. They are compelled to leave education after their marriage. They are not allowed to eat much and speak loudly. They are believed to be the dolls of the doors. This discriminatory treatment hampers the overall development of the country. It causes inferior complexity in girls. Girls suffer from malnutrition for gender disparity. So, they become physically weaker than males. If we do not stop it, our country will lag behind. So, we have to change our outlook. We should think that women are our equal partners. The light of education should be spread among all. Women should be made self reliant. Technical education should be introduced among girls. Above all, all should come forward to solve the problem.
লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য
বঙ্গানুবাদ: লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য বাংলাদেশে সবচেয়ে অন্যতম আলোচিত বিষয়। এর অর্থ ছেলে ও মেয়েদেরকে আলাদা করে দেখা। এটি জন্ম থেকে শুরু হয়, এমনকি জন্মের পূর্বেই। আমাদের সমাজে মেয়েদের সাথে খারাপ আচরণ করা হয়। মেয়েদেরকে সব সুযোগ-সুবিধা ভোগ করতে দেয়া হয় না। সামাজিক কুসংস্কার, প্রথা ও ধর্মীয় অপব্যাখ্যা এর জন্য দায়ী। সামাজিক অবকাঠামোও এর জন্য দায়ী। আমাদের সামাজিক অবকাঠামোতে শুধু ছেলেরাই বাইরে কাজ করতে উপযুক্ত।
তাই মেয়েরা শুধু বাড়ির কাজেই আবদ্ধ থাকে। তারা বিয়ের পর পড়াশুনা ছাড়তে বাধ্য হয়। তাদেরকে বেশি খেতে ও উচ্চস্বরে কথা বলতে দেয়া হয়। না। তাদেরকে ঘরের পুতুল ভাবা হয়। এই বৈষম্যমূলক আচরণ দেশের সার্বিক উন্নয়নকে ব্যাহত করে। এটি মেয়েদের মধ্যে হীনম্মন্যতা সৃষ্টি করে। মেয়েরা লিঙ্গ বৈষম্যের কারণে পুষ্টিহীনতায় ভোগে। তাই তারা শারীরিকভাবে পুরুষদের চেয়ে বেশি দুর্বল হয়। আমরা যদি এই বৈষম্য বন্ধ না করি, তাহলে আমাদের দেশ পিছিয়ে পড়বে। তাই আমাদেরকে আমাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি পরিবর্তন করতে হবে। আমাদের ভাবা উচিত মেয়েরাও আমাদের সমান অংশীদার। সবার মধ্যে শিক্ষার আলো ছড়িয়ে দিতে হবে। মেয়েদেরকে আত্মনির্ভরশীল করতে হবে। মেয়েদের মধ্যে কারিগরি শিক্ষা চালু করতে হবে। সর্বোপরি, সবাইকে এই সমস্যা সমাধানে এগিয়ে আসা উচিত।
