My Childhood (আমার শৈশবকাল)
One can hardly forget one’s childhood memories whether pleasant or painful. I can still remember my childhood very much. I was born in a village in the district of Kushtia where I passed my childhood. Many things happened in my childhood days; but I cannot remember all of them. I can remember the happy days with my parents. I often played with my She was my best friend and companion. My education began with a picture book. I could not forget the very first day at school. My heart began to beat faster when I was taken to the headmaster. But his smiling face and gentle words endeared him to me. The teachers were affectionate. My classmates were very friendly. I was a smart boy. Every evening I played with them in the field. I have many sweet memories of these evenings. When I recollect my childhood, I feel a pulsation of joy in my mind.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : কেউ সহজে তার শৈশব স্মৃতি ভুলতে পারে না, সে হোক আনন্দপূর্ণ কিংবা যন্ত্রণাদায়ক। আমি আমার শৈশব স্পষ্ট মনে করতে পারি। আমি কুষ্টিয়া জেলার একটি গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছি, যেখানে আমি আমার শৈশব কাটিয়েছি। আমার শৈশব জীবনে অনেক ঘটনা ঘটেছে, কিন্তু সেগুলোর সব স্মৃতি আমি মনে রাখতে পারি নি। আমি আমার সুখী সুন্দর সময় পিতামাতার সাথে কাটিয়েছিলাম, এটা স্মরণ করতে পারি। আমি প্রায়ই আমার মায়ের সাথে খেলা করতাম । সে আমার সবচেয়ে ভালো সাথী এবং বন্ধু। আমার শিক্ষাজীবন শুরু হয়েছিল একটি ছবির বই থেকে। আমি আমার বিদ্যালয়ের প্রথম দিনটির কথা ভুলতে পারব না। আমি যখন আমার প্রধান শিক্ষকের কাছে গিয়েছিলাম তখন আমার হৃদকম্পন বেড়ে গিয়েছিল। কিন্তু তার হাস্যোজ্জ্বল মুখ এবং ভদ্র ব্যবহার আমায় আকৃষ্ট করেছিল। শিক্ষকরা ছিল স্নেহপ্রিয়। আমার শ্রেণিসাথীরা ছিল বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ। আমি খুব চটপটে ছিলাম। প্রত্যেকদিন সন্ধ্যায় আমি তাদের সাথে খেলাধুলা করতাম। সেসব সন্ধ্যাগুলোর অনেক মধুর স্মৃতি আছে। যখন আমি আমার শৈশব নিয়ে ভাবি তখন আমার মনে আনন্দের ধুক ধুকুনি হয়।
